Googie inspired residence using low pitched scissor trusses

Present day tract housing uses prefabricated wood trusses to achieve open plan living and ease of construction. These sketches explore using a low pitched scissor truss to create an oversized sheltering googie inspired residence. A lot of what I would like to do is to explore domestic designs using a classic googie/jetsons/flintstones mid century vocabulary. Inspired by John Lautner and Armet & Davis. #googie, #midcenturymodern

Sketch for a Beachhouse

Mid-century modern scheme for a beach house. Rectangular main level raised over parking on pilotis. A concrete block circulation core anchors all three levels and the upper level is beneath a soaring butterfly roof. #midcenturymodern #butterflyroof  #modernbeachhouse
